The Median Sale Price for single-family homes in the Washington metro area was $558,000 for the quarter ending March 2022, an increase of 5.3% over the same period in 2021.

The properties sold in the quarter ending March 2022 had a Median Price per SqFt of $245. This was 6.6% higher over the last 12 months. 

The inventory of homes for sale at the end of March 2022 was 9,620, an increase of 14.5% over the previous quarter ending in December 2021. Compared to the same time last year, the inventory at the end of March 2021 was 13,000.

A total of around 16,210 properties were listed for sale in the quarter ending March 2022, an increase of 11% over the previous quarter. Compared to the same time last year, we had around 17,805 new listings in the first quarter of 2021, with an increase of just 1% over the previous quarter.
