In August 2025, sales activity among the top 30 U.S. metros showed continued weakness. The Baltimore metro posted the smallest decline, with transactions slipping 2.5% year-over-year to 2,335 homes sold. Denver followed with a 3.7% decrease, totaling 4,641 homes sold.The Houston metro registered a 4.2% drop, with 11,554 transactions for the month. Boston’s market softened further, recording a 5.0% fall to 2,823 homes sold. The steepest pullback came from Phoenix, where sales volume contracted 6.3%, settling at around 4,000 homes sold.
