In April 2025, among the top 30 U.S. metro areas, the Denver Metro Area led with a 3.9% year-over-year increase in sales volume, recording 5,538 homes sold. The San Diego Metro Area experienced a decline of 2.7%, with 1,651 houses sold. The Boston Metro Area saw a 4.1% drop in sales, totaling 1,993 transactions. The Phoenix Metro Area recorded a 4.7% decrease, with 5,123 homes sold. Rounding out the group, the Charlotte Metro Area experienced the steepest decline among the five, with a 6.2% drop, bringing sales down to 3,189 homes.
