June 2026 recorded a continued increase in available housing inventory across major U.S. metro areas, providing buyers with more options compared to the same period last year. Houston, TX remained the leading metro area with approximately 63,940 homes for sale, reflecting a 6.9% year-over-year increase. Atlanta, GA followed with around 59,990 active listings, recording the highest annual growth among the five metros at 12.2%. Dallas, TX reported nearly 56,929 homes for sale, showing a modest 0.8% increase compared to June 2025. In the Northeast, the New York, NY metro area reached approximately 37,573 listings, representing a 9.6% year-over-year rise. Meanwhile, San Antonio, TX recorded around 30,619 homes for sale, marking a 9.9% annual increase in available inventory.
