January 2026 inventory figures show continued year-over-year growth in active listings across major U.S. metro areas. The Houston metro area remained the largest market by available inventory, with 52,805 homes for sale, reflecting a 16.6% year-over-year increase.The Atlanta metro area followed with 44,081 active listings, up 5.1% YoY. The Dallas metro area recorded 43,066 homes on the market, marking an 8.5% annual increase.The San Antonio metro area reported 24,659 homes for sale, showing an 11.0% year-over-year rise, while the New York metro area had 24,248 active listings, up 7.7% YoY.
